논문제목 Generating Mechanically Stable and Pomegranate Polyphenols Derived Therapeutic hydrogels for Neuronal Regeneration

논문초록 Hydrogels in healing applications have long been considered complex due to challenges in mechanical stability and sustainable therapeutic efficacy. Here, we report a strategy for new type of hydrogels containing polyphenols that achieves enhanced structural stability and high therapeutic effects with antioxidant pomegranate polyphenols, punicalagin. Punicalagin-loaded hydrogels composed of tyramine-functionalized hyaluronic acid and collagen can be prepared by enzymatic reactions. The hydrogel effectively integrates punicalagin into the polysaccharide network exhibiting enhanced or maintaining its mechanical properties. Due to structurally stable hydrogels, the punicalagin continuously released from the gels over several days, also show tunable punicalagin release leading to different polymeric crosslinking density and its swelling behavior. Sustainable release of punicalagin could enhanced neuronal regeneration. Overall, this study presents a design strategy for the antioxidative biomaterials with stable therapeutic efficiency.
